What is one of the key successes of living?
The potential to form communities. This is what the STADTREGAL stands for!
The STADTREGAL integrates into a heterogeneous residential ensemble. Four “addresses,” four buildings with different housing qualities and characters, form a diverse living environment around a quiet courtyard—with the STADTREGAL serving as the “face” towards the public.
On one hand, we respond to the “loud,” yet lively urban situation created by the adjacent railway line and street; on the other, to the appealing conditions of westward orientation and evening sun due to the building heights—this forms the main component of the architectural approach.
In addition to attractive, flexible apartments and optional expandable units, the focus in the REGAL is on young living. Climate-resilient neighborhood development and ecological themes are communicated on many levels, especially to the younger generation and those to come.
Community rooms, studios, and micro-offices, as well as a multi-story open space on the upper floors, complete the membrane-like character of the REGAL and create a cross-site urban life attraction for the entire quarter and the surrounding neighborhood.
Other key features of the project are the diverse ground-floor functions—Volkshilfe, MA11, and the youth center—complemented by the innovative climate experimental fields and beehives on the roof, which round off the sustainable concept.
Depending on the position and orientation of the buildings, different floor plans are developed. Through-apartments and maisonettes in the timber-hybrid buildings are combined with townhouses. Adaptable apartment layouts with integrated home office, children’s areas, or reading spaces are thoughtfully planned with the future in mind. Keyword: flexible life situations.
The residential buildings are connected on almost all floors, combined with roof gardens, greenery, and open spaces.
