Industrial Hall – Flexible Use – Pickleball
General
The hall is designed as a multifunctional industrial and multi-purpose space. A special focus lies on adaptability and aesthetics—it deliberately breaks away from the typical rigid hall structure and opens up flexible possibilities of use.
Concept & Construction
The hall is designed for a wide range of uses, accommodating both industrial activities involving dust or water exposure as well as commercial and sports functions. Robust hall surfaces enable intensive use, while the modular structure allows for a clear separation of functional areas. Large windows provide abundant natural daylight and support the integration of workspaces and offices directly within the hall. The open structural system with few columns maximizes usable space, and the durable construction ensures long-term usability.
Use & Activity
One segment of the hall is specifically designed for pickleball. Inside, a self-contained “box” constructed using lightweight timber framing consolidates changing rooms, technical areas, and retreat spaces. Through its clearly defined volumetric form, the box also serves as a spectator and gallery area during competitions, creating a striking architectural feature within the industrial setting. In this way, the building combines robust industrial surfaces with a distinct sports zone, emphasizing the flexibility and transformability of the entire structure.
