On the former industrial and commercial spaces at Ödenburger Straße in Floridsdorf, a residential complex with 67 housing units and an underground parking will be built. A so-called “pocket park” divides the housing estate into two separate buildings. The result is a generous open space and green recreation area for the residents in the centre of the complex.
Due to the natural slope of the property the two buildings are terraced in northern direction to the adjoining allotment garden settlement and fit into the existing topography. In terms of design the residential complex with it’s partly floor-to-ceiling glazing, in the colors white and golden brown, plays with the properties of expanded metal elements such as closure, translucency, transparency, publicity and privacy.
Each apartment has its own outdoor area in form of a balcony, loggia or terrace and meets all the requirements of adaptable living. In addition to a common space with laundry room on the garden level, a spacious communal terrace on the ground floor and another common room with terrace on the rooftop, Ödenburger Straße offers the residents a raised garden, a toddler playground with a sandpit, a small Outdoor park with slide and climbing ropes and invites you to linger in the green with various seating platforms and wooden sundecks.
