THE MONOLITH – Project LEOnora
The Monolith presents itself as a powerful architectural figure—a building that appears to be cast from a single mold while simultaneously acting as a connector. Positioned at the corner of a slope, it mediates between two neighboring structures of different heights, thereby creating a harmonious urban ensemble.
The two-story, space-defining rooftop additions introduce additional qualities to the uppermost level, expanding the living space with bright, generous areas. A variety of apartment typologies makes it possible to respond to different residents’ needs—from compact units to through-apartments that ensure natural cross-ventilation.
Spacious living areas with multiple window openings create a sense of visual openness. Daylighting and cross-ventilation contribute significantly to the high quality of living, making the building a comfortable and pleasant place to inhabit.
The two wings of the building enclose a protected courtyard designed as a biodiverse garden—a green retreat that integrates nature into everyday life and further enhances quality of living.
The Monolith combines clarity of form with diversity in living—an architectural statement of high functional and spatial quality.
