The project Viertel Zwei has the ambition to create a vivid, creative and livable, contemporary living space. Our suggestion interprets in a new way how a skyscraper can contribute to this desired appreciation and development of a community. On the one hand, the draft provides a clear landmark for the city of Vienna, while at the same time the development of both skyscrapers is seen as an opportunity to strengthen the sense of community in the neighborhood and to create a pleasant and attractive urban space.

Our contribution includes an ensemble of four softly shaped structures whose different function, form and size create a variation of rooms full of character and charm. The two skyscrapers for office, hotel and residential use are complemented by two smaller structures on the stables area: the arts and leisure center as a meeting place for the entire district and another office and education center, flexible and close to teh square. The two towers are divided into various volumes, which were scaled, twisted and manipulated in their form. This submits the view in all directions and creates additional space for a vibrant city life. Each tower consists of different structures that are stacked slightly offset on top of each other, creating high-quality exterior spaces and making the silhouettes look like slim, well-proportioned structures.

As a result the high-rise buildings are given an elegant lightness and dynamic facade structure. The different sizes of these volumes express themselves as an exciting, varied visual element, which facilitates orientation and breaks the monotony through which a skyscraper often appears massive and obtrusive.
Our design represents an organic continuation of the existing urban development and forms a harmonious and logical conclusion to the already established identity of Quartier Viertel Zwei.
