The project “High Rise Nordbahnhof” has the ambition to create a vivid and creative living space which suits into the spirit of the time.
The basic urban planning concept of the “Free Center” is considered very positive and defines the basic parameters of the project. By rotating and shaping the tower, the orientation of the apartments are optimized, resulting in no northern apartments. The adjoining building of 1B is lowered in height to the south, resulting in a maximization of solar radiation on the “urban terrace” and in the district garden. Another advantage of the rotation and the optimization of the structure is the reduction of shading.
The so called “Free Center” extends over the building and the residential tower with adjoining buildings interlocks ideally. The urban development axes were taken up. Thereby the building is integrated into the master structure. The result is a large, contiguous outdoor area in the “Free Center”, which is defined and zoned by a gentle hilly landscape. Located on the ground floor, the two-storey high “Social” House is washed around by the landscape and forms a social center for the “Free Center”. From the first floor a bridge forms the interweaving with the surrounding and opens the tower in direction to the “Free Center”.
