The new nursing home of the Franciscan Nuns of Christian Love is being built on the previous site. The existing building will be demolished to make way for a new modern nursing home. Thereby, both the requirements for contemporary care standards and the historical character of the site are taken into account.
Two buildings are oriented on the street and connected with each other. The buildings react to the hilly terrain, offering ideal care conditions and optimal open spaces.
The main entrance is accessible not only via stairs, but also barrier-free by the side of the chapel. The ground floor is characterized by connecting and synergistic elements. Here you will find services such as ATM, grocery, hairdresser and physiotherapy. Like the chapel also the cafeteria is accessible from the outside. The cafeteria has a sun terrace which, thanks to the open space structure, can also be used for external celebrations.
All three floors have living units that fulfill the function of living rooms. The upstream spacious terraces have a minimum depth of 2.3 meters, which also allows bedridden nuns a relaxed stay outdoors. In total, there are five stations, two of which are on two levels and one on the first floor.
Furthermore, on the first floor there are kitchens, staff living quarters and novitiate rooms. Flexible redesign options characterize the novitiate rooms.
